ReelPolitik Film Night: The Candidate

Ron Atkey was a 30 year old PC candidate in Toronto St. Paul’s in 1972, and was given little chance of success against an entrenched Liberal incumbent. But certain lessons from the film, enabled him to eke out a narrow victory in mid-town Toronto.
Come and re-live the excitement of election campaigns as Ron Atkey shares personal vignettes while introducing the film. As the Party prepares for the re-match against Justin Trudeau in 2019, this film may be instructive.
